It’s been almost four months since a Pokemon game was the bestselling game on Japan’s software chart, but Nintendo’s newest Pokemon Ranger title for the Nintendo DS ends that dark period for the franchise. The DS game bested .hack//LINK for the PSP and the “Ultimate Hits” version of 
last year’s mega-hit Dragon Quest IX.
The top ten was a good mix of Wii, DS, PlayStation 3 and PSP titles, chock full of new debuts like the latest Nobunaga’s Ambition for the PS3. A few more of Square Enix’s budget priced re-releases, many of them Dragon Quest DS remakes, are peppered throughout the chart.
